My take on VEER Apartments
VEER is all studios, and many are small: the Curve plan is 275 sq ft, the Swerve 325, and the largest Veer plan 496. It is a renovated building on Gessner Drive near the US-183 and I-35 interchange, with 174 homes. The tour shows a lounge with teal accent walls and brass chandeliers, a gym with rubber flooring, and an indoor atrium with open walkways stacked several floors up. It also shows the shared laundry room with stacked machines, since units do not have their own.
Starting rents are $674 for the Curve, $685 for the Swerve and $970 for the Veer, which is waitlist only. There is no special, so base rent plus $33.50 a month in required fees is the real number: about $708 for the smallest studio. Part of the building is income-restricted for households at or below 50% or 60% of area median income. Those rents depend on your household income, and I can check eligibility before you apply.
Getting around is the strength. US-183 and I-35 are 4 minutes away, and downtown, the Domain and Mueller are each about 12 to 15 minutes by car. Parking is surface, cost not published. This is a renovated older building, not new construction, so check water pressure and window seals when you tour. Tip: stand in the 275 sq ft plan with your bed and desk sizes in mind before you commit.

- you want the lowest rent possible in a freshly renovated studio, with no breed restrictions and quick access to 183 and I-35
- Look elsewhere if
- you need a bedroom door, in-unit laundry, or more than about 500 sq ft
- The catch
- Every home is a studio, many only 275-325 sq ft, and the community lists a shared laundry facility rather than in-unit washers/dryers. It is a renovated building, not new construction.
