My take on Midtown Highline
Midtown Highline only does one-bedrooms, 588 to 951 sq ft, in a newer brick building on East Highland Mall Boulevard, inside the Highland redevelopment by ACC. The tour shows quartz kitchen islands with pendant lights and tile backsplash, light or dark cabinet schemes, a stacked full-size front-load washer and dryer, and walk-in closets with wood shelving. Shared space is a lounge hung with art, work lounges and a fifth-floor lounge facing downtown. There is no pool.
Base rent runs $1,391 to $1,893, and the current special is one month free with admin fees waived. On a 12-month lease, that brings $1,391 down to about $1,275 a month. What I can't give you yet is the all-in number. The fee guide lists a monthly convenience fee, but the amount isn't readable online, and garage parking isn't priced. The deposit is $500. Get the full monthly figure in writing before you compare it with anything else.
Location is the case for it. Highland Station on the Red Line is about a 10-minute walk, the St. John Encampment Commons and UFCU Pavilion are two minutes on foot, and UT and downtown are 10 to 12 minutes by car. The blocks around it are still under construction, so expect some noise and detours. The special came from a homepage popup, so ask if it's still live when you book the tour.
- Worth a look if
- you want a newer 1-bedroom with in-unit laundry and garage parking, a short walk from the Red Line and about 12 minutes from downtown
- Look elsewhere if
- you need a studio or 2+ bedrooms, or want a resort-style pool
- The catch
- Only 1-bedrooms are offered, and the fee guide (deposit aside) and parking cost are not published, so the full monthly cost is hard to pin down before touring. The Highland redevelopment around it is still under construction.
