My take on The Howard
East Howard Lane, out past Pflugerville near the SH 130 toll road, is where The Howard opened in 2024 with 360 homes in 3-story walk-up buildings. Walk-up means no elevators, so ask about floor level if stairs matter. The amenity list is heavy on games for a garden community: an indoor golf simulator, an outdoor putting green, bocce, a pool with cabanas and a spin and yoga studio. The floor plans list quartz counters, basket-weave tile backsplash, pendant lighting and walk-in closets. A washer and dryer are only in select homes, so confirm that for the unit you want.
Base rents start at $1,075 for a one-bedroom and $1,701 for a two-bedroom. The three-bedroom shows contact for pricing. ApartmentList shows up to 10 weeks free, which the official site does not confirm, so I check it. If it applies, that $1,075 one-bedroom nets about $868 a month on a 12-month lease. The official site adds about $37 a month in required fees, while ApartmentList shows about $62, so get the real number in writing. Water bills with rent, renters insurance is required, and detached garages and carports cost extra.
The SH 130 and SH 45 interchange is about 5 minutes away, Stone Hill Town Center about 10 and the Domain about 15. Walk Score is around 9, so a car is required. Tip: ask for garage pricing along with the rent quote, since it is not published.
