My take on Tisdale at Lakeline Station
The CapMetro Red Line platform at Lakeline Station is about a 3-minute walk from this IRT Living building on Lyndhurst Street, right where Austin meets Cedar Park. It is new and still leasing up, with about 180 homes listed as open. There are two pools, one for lounging and one for laps, a rooftop sky deck, a demonstration kitchen and a movement studio. Homes have quartz, plank floors and full-size laundry. Select plans add a mudroom, built-in desk or a fenced yard. Parking is in a controlled-access garage.
Base rents start at $1,256 for a one-bedroom, $1,842 for a two-bedroom and $2,661 for the three-bedroom, priced on a 16-month term. The offer is up to 4 months free, marketed as no rent until next year. If you get the full 4 months on 16 months, a $1,256 one-bedroom nets about $942 a month. That is a big drop, but the fine print matters. Required monthly fees and the garage cost aren't published, so the real total is still unknown. The application fee is $0 for now.
Lakeline Mall and H-E-B on Lakeline Boulevard are about 5 minutes away, and the Domain is about 18 by car on US-183. Downtown is about 30 minutes driving, so the train is the real draw. Tip: get the special in writing for your exact unit and lease term, since up to 4 months rarely applies to every home.
- Worth a look if
- you want a brand-new building next to the Red Line commuter rail at Lakeline with two pools and a sky deck, and can capture the up-to-4-months-free offer
- Look elsewhere if
- you want an established property with reviews, or need a short drive to central Austin
- The catch
- Still in lease-up with a very large number of open homes (about 180 listed), so expect ongoing move-ins and an unproven management track record; required monthly fees and garage cost are not published, so ask for the full fee sheet.
